The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) is a non-profit research organization that advocates immigration reduction in the United States.〔http://cis.org/About〕 It was started as a spin-off from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) in 1985. The CIS's self-described mission is to "provid() immigration policymakers, the academic community, news media, and concerned citizens with reliable information about the social, economic, environmental, security, and fiscal consequences of legal and illegal immigration into the United States."〔(Center for Immigration Studies )〕 ==Board and funding== The founding CIS Board Members were:〔Graham, Otis.
